The deadline for IT returns is July 31| No extension for IT

 New Delhi: Central Revenue Secretary Tarun Bajaj has made it clear that there is no plan to extend the deadline for filing Income Tax Returns(ITR). July 31 will be the last date and it is expected that the returns will be filled by the last date, he said, not for financial year 2021-2022. Over 2.3 crore ITRs extend have been filed till July 20 and the number is steadily increasing. 



Bajaj explained in the coming day implications of COVID-19 , IT problems with portals that the expenditure was increased till December 31 last year due to Tax Return and other issues. Bajaj mentioned some slow ITRs. It may thought that it can be filed intention of doing the same this time. But this time there is no plan to extend the deadline. Currently 15-18 lakh returns are coming daily. In coming days that it can increase up 25 lakh to 30 lakh.
